"the Son anointed the apostles and the apostles anointed us" Gospel of Philip

PictureLCC Bishops Mazel, Wedgwood and Leadbeater

For those members of our order who feel a sense of vocation to ordained ministry, we offer a short course in Liberal Catholic and Esoteric Christian Studies through St Gall's Seminary. There is a modest tuition fee for this course.

Knights, ideally will be ordained to the minor orders at regular intervals until such time as the seminarian is ready to receive major orders as a deacon or a priest. Dames may wish to be admitted to the various grades of the Order of Our Lady before admission as a Deaconess.

Seminarians may be ordained solely for the Order or may also be invited to incardinate in the Mar Thoma Liberal Catholic Church and the Holy Celtic Church International.

Please also see the Initiations and Templar Lineage pages.

On the ordination of women to the priesthood

The position held by the Holy Celtic Church International is the same at that of The Liberal Catholic Church, "that the Church, even if it wanted to ordain women, does not have the authority to do so and that it is not possible for a woman to become a priest even if she went through the ordination ceremony. The reasoning behind this belief is that the female body does not effectively channel the masculine energies of Christ, the true minister of all the sacraments. The priest has to be able to channel Christ's energies to validly confect the sacrament; therefore priests must be male. When discussing the sacrament of Holy Orders in his book Science of the Sacraments, Second Presiding Bishop Leadbeater confirmed that women could not be ordained; he noted that Christ left no indication that women can become priests and that only Christ can change this arrangement." (wikipedia)
We do, however, admit women to a pastoral role as Deaconesses and the positions of Parfaite and Druidess  are also possibilities in the esoteric context.
